Beginning to move beyond my limitations

I pulled one of my quads playing basketball a few days ago. It made me feel stupid to have injured myself since I do lots of strengthening but admittedly, very little stretching.

So, I made a change. For a while, instead of lifting weights at the gym I've begun to start practicing Yoga Today.

Today was my 3rd day in a row. I did Adi's indoor class: Sports Fitness from March 27.
It was perfect. Adi, your guidance through the poses helps me focus on doing it right and to become aware of my breath and what's happening with body.

I can feel my natural ability and definitely can feel my serious limitations –but it makes me feel stronger. I'm going to stay with it.

Thanks, Adi. Thanks, Kim. Thanks Yoga Today.

Relaxation and Stress Free Days

I am a PE Teacher (K-4) and coach here in KS. I went through 3 years of stressed out days and nights with teaching all day and coaching at night. My body began to tire easily, I'd lose focus, and at the age of 26 I felt as if I was turning 70!

I became interested in Yoga and started doing it once or twice a week with other teachers as a social event. I have taken it on full-time/daily now. I wake up an hour earlier...sometimes 5AM to get a class in on Yoga Today. I love it! I am so much more stress free at work and even more willing to participate in ALL the activities I teach with my students.

Not only does my mind, body, and spirit feel better...but I have a new found understanding and respect for all my students and athletes. I used to be short-tempered and not want to hear both sides of their stories, but now I take the time to listen and gently give feedback.

Having Yoga Today to do with a few friends is wonderful. I wouldn't have considered myself overly flexible...so humor comes in some of our sessions. But alone, when I can turn ambient music on in the background, the lights out, and clear my mind....I make it through a day of early morning yoga, school, coaching, things around the house, and still want to take another class in the evening!

I am so happy I found Yoga and am elated with how youthful and alive I feel each day!

Yogini

A year ago today, I took a great leap forward in my life. For many years, I had been a slave to the gym. I worried that if I took more than one day of rest per week my body would turn to mush. I was fit and healthy by everyone's standards, but my self-image was skewed and I was exercising for the wrong reasons and hating it.

I decided to take a year and try replacing my intense gym sessions with yoga. For weeks and even months, I fretted that I wasn't going to stay toned and trim, but before too long, my mind began to change. It stopped being about that. I looked forward to my yoga sessions in a way I had never looked forward to a slog at the gym. I began to laugh more. I began to love better. After one year, I feel stronger and healthier than ever, but even better, I am more at peace than I have ever been, and an all around better person.

I realize this year was only the beginning of a long journey and I look forward to the joy and good health that yoga will continue to bring me in the future. I am so grateful to Yoga Today for creating a way for people everywhere in remote parts of the world, with busy schedules, and with limited incomes to access top-notch yoga instruction. I hope you receive as much joy as you give.

Thanks all!
